Corona: Laut einer Studie aus England berichten Infizierte über ein neues Omikron-Symptom
Die »klassischen« Symptome einer #Corona #Infektion sind Halsschmerzen, Fieber, Husten, fehlender Geruchssinn und fehlender Geschmackssinn. Laut einer aktuellen Studie aus England kann »Omikron« bei Infizierten auch ein neues Symptom auslösen: Appetitlosigkeit.
Wie der englische »Mirror« berichtet, fanden das an der »ZOE-Covid-Symptomstudie« beteiligte Forscher heraus, als sie Symptomdaten positiv Getesteter mit den Daten von Anfang Oktober verglichen, als »Delta« noch vorherrschend war.

This research is led by Professor Tim Spector, a professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London and director of a scientific study of 15,000 identical and non-identical twins, which has been running for nearly three decades.

Bei aktuell teilnehmenden #App Usern wurde »Omikron« entweder bestätigt sie waren wahrscheinlich damit infiziert. Erkrankte berichteten über Appetitlosigkeit und sprachen von einer Art »Bewusstseinseintrübung« (»Hirnnebel«) während der Infektion. Über Letzteres wurde allerdings schon bei »Alpha« berichtet.
Wie viele Infizierte von Appetitlosigkeit betroffen waren, wird in der »Studie« nicht erwähnt. Die Forscher glauben dennoch, dass das neue Symptom bei der Diagnose helfen könnte, wenn der Patient keine sonstigen Beschwerden hat. Laut der »Studie« ist bei »Omikron« die Wahrscheinlichkeit eines Geschmacksverlustes oder Geruchsverlustes im Gegensatz zu »Alpha« oder »Delta« deutlich geringer. Nur 50 Prozent der Infizierten erfuhren demnach die drei klassischen Corona Symptome Fieber, Husten und Verlust des Geruchssinnes oder Geschmackssinnes.
Die »Studie« ergab aber auch, dass sich die häufigsten Symptome von »Omikron« nicht wesentlich von denen bei »Delta« unterscheiden – eine laufende Nase, Kopfschmerzen, Nachtschweiß, Müdigkeit, Husten, Niesen und Halsschmerzen.
