Efficient, ergonomic, better for the body: Three Bosch innovations for drywall professionals
- Easier screwdriving, safer sawing, effortless sanding
- “Professional 18 V System” expansion to include cordless drywall screwdriver and cut-out tool
- First cordless drywall screwdriver with a retractable depth stop for easy screw removal
- First 18 V cordless cut-out tool from Bosch for professionals for an even wider application range
- Ergonomic and dust-minimizing drywall sander with a high reach
Bosch is expanding its portfolio with three new efficient, ergonomic, and dust-minimizing tools for drywall professionals: Plasterboards can be fixed and loosened more easily and more conveniently with the GTB 18V-45 Professional cordless drywall screwdriver. Recesses can be produced quickly and more safely using the GCU 18V-30 Professional cordless cut-out tool. And with the GTR 55-225 Professional drywall sander, users can sand walls and ceilings ergonomically while watching out for their physical well-being. The cordless drywall screwdriver and cut-out tool enrich the ‘Professional 18V System’, which covers all other significant 18V applications that, thanks to cross-manufacturer compatibility, go even beyond Bosch. Many brands, many tools, one battery system: All tools ‒ from compact drill drivers to miter saws with up to 2,000 W of equivalent corded power ‒ can be operated with the same 18V lithium-ion battery and a single charger. Tradespeople therefore save time, space, and money.
Easier screwdriving, GTB 18V-45 Professional cordless drywall #screwdriver
The brushless GTB 18V-45 Professional is the first cordless drywall screwdriver with a retractable depth stop on the market, making it possible to loosen screws without needing to remove the depth stop. Instead, the depth stop can be retracted in just one simple movement and then locked just as easily again into the right position – without having to reset the screw-in depth. This saves valuable time. The ‘PowerSave’ mode provides further advantages: In this mode, the motor only starts when the screw touches the wall and pressure is applied to the drywall screwdriver. This reduces the noise level during operation and extends the battery runtime. The GTB 18V-45 Professional is also easy to handle thanks to its slim design and a low weight of just 950 grams. Tradespeople can carry out serial applications even more efficiently using the optionally available magazine attachments: Both the existing MA 55 Professional magazine attachment as well as its successor GMA 55 Professional, planned for 2023, are compatible with the GTB 18V-45 Professional. These magazine attachments are mounted without the need for additional tools and can accommodate all standard screw belts with a screw length between 25 and 55 mm and a screw head diameter of 5 mm. This makes it even easier to perform serial applications.
Safer sawing: GCU 18V-30 Professional cordless cut-out tool
Small saw, great power: The brushless GCU 18V-30 Professional is the first cordless cut-out tool from Bosch for professionals. Drywall builders achieve quick and precise results when sawing recesses for power sockets, light switches, as well as power and water connections. They are also perfect for flush cutting around window and door openings. The rubber seal on the on/off switch complies with the IP5X protection level. During dust-intensive work, this seal prevents dust from getting into the switch and extends tool lifetime. This is currently unique on the market. By connecting a vacuum to the tool using the detachable adaptor, the user enjoys a cleaner work environment that also watches out for the user’s physical well-being. The motor brake and Restart Protection also help to make work safer. In addition, the cut-out tool is easy to operate thanks to its low weight of just 910 grams. Tradespeople can accurately set the cutting depth and begin work more safely due to the Soft Start function.
Effortless sanding: GTR 55-225 Professional drywall sander
With the 550-W GTR 55-225 Professional drywall sander, professionals can sand walls and ceilings in preparation for wallpapering and painting work ‒ without straining their neck or back. Since the sander has an ultra-flexible head, the sanding disc is always flat on the surface and ensures a high removal rate. The extension with the quick-change system offers high flexibility in this respect: If the centerpiece is not required, it can be removed completely to reduce the weight. A second extension is available as an optional extra for a maximum reach of 2.30 m. The T-shaped handle provides an ergonomic work position ‒ especially during overhead applications. All the operating elements are located within reach and the user always has the tool well under control. Other advantages of the drywall sander include the removable brush and the dust extractor adaptor: Sanding can be carried out very close to corners without the brush. The extractor enables the user to work at very low dust levels and offers a good view of the surface to be sanded.
The GTR 55-225 Professional cordless drywall sander will be available from July onwards, the GCU 18V-30 Professional cordless cut-out tool from October onwards and the GTB 18V-45 Professional drywall screwdriver from September onwards. The associated GMA 55 Professional magazine attachment is scheduled for early 2023.
